Utilization of discrete transforms to conquer the problems of multi-tone systems

چکیده
This paper presents a new implementation of discrete multi-tone (DMT) systems based on different discrete transforms that include the discrete sine transform (DST), discrete cosine transform (DCT), and discrete wavelet transform (DWT). The implementation also considers time-domain equalization to mitigate channel distortion. Compared to the fast Fourier transform discrete multi-tone (FFT-DMT) system, the proposed implementations have an advantage in that their energy-compaction property helps in reducing the channel effects. The performance of the DST-DMT, DCT-DMT, DWT-DMT, and FFT-DMT systems, employing a time-domain equalizer (TEQ), is investigated in the paper. Fixing of Cycle Slips in Dual-Frequency GPS Phase Observables using Discrete Wavelet Transforms
The occurrence of cycle slips is a major limiting factor for achievement of sub-decimeter accuracy in positioning with GPS (Global Positioning System). In the past, several authors introduced a method based on different combinations of GPS data together with Kalman filter to solve the problem of the cycle slips. In this paper the same philosophy is used but with discrete wavelet transforms. For...

Multi-objective optimization of discrete time–cost tradeoff problem in project networks using non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm
The time–cost tradeoff problem is one of the most important and applicable problems in project scheduling area. There are many factors that force the mangers to crash the time. This factor could be early utilization, early commissioning and operation, improving the project cash flow, avoiding unfavorable weather conditions, compensating the delays, and so on. Since there is a need to allocate e...
متن کاملA recursive implementation of the dimensionless FFT
A divide and conquer algorithm is presented for computing arbitrary multi-dimensional discrete Fourier transforms. In contrast to standard approaches such as the row-column algorithm, this algorithm allows an arbitrary decomposition, based solely on the size of the transform independent of the dimension of the transform. Only minor modifications are required to compute transforms with different...

Abstract: In traditional generation systems, energy from fuel is simply converted into electrical energy, while in the combined heat and power (CHP) systems, fuel energy, in addition to generating electricity, also generates thermal energy. Therefore, the efficiency of these systems is considerably higher than traditional systems, and this justifies the need for CHP systems. The emergence of CH...
